My young Irish Setter dog ‘Bleu’ AKA Sametsuz Scriptwriter was born on 1st May 2008 and was bred by Magi Henderson from Dumfries.

 

His sire is SH CH Danaway Lancelot of Autumnwood and his dam is SH CH  Sametsuz Secret Affair JW. At 14 weeks of age ‘Bleu’ started attending the excellent weekly Currie Ring Craft class on a Thursday morning at Currie Scout Hall which is run by Liz Burns.

 

In November 2008 at 6 months of age ‘Bleu’ began his show career gaining a 2nd place in a large puppy class at the Waverley Gundog Show in Edinburgh. A fortnight later he narrowly missed out on qualifying for Crufts after being placed Reserve in the MinorPuppy Dog Class from a class of 18 puppies at the Gundog Breeds of Scotland Championship Show held at Ingliston!

 

2009 was a terrific year for ‘Bleu’ as he continued to do well amongst strong competition at both the open and championship shows. He gained many firsts, seconds and third places again having to compete in many large class sizes.

 

2010 has been a fantastic year so far for ‘Bleu’ going Best of Breed at the age of 20 months at the Paisley Open Show in January and winning his Under Graduate class at Crufts!  

 

Fingers crossed that ‘Bleu’ can continue to enjoy lots of fun in the show ring and have a successful show career for many years to come…
